Summer reading is different, even as an adult with a full-time job. Summer is the time to dig into really long books, or read fun books with no thought of self-improvement. Or it is the time to read everything on your new interest ( like mexican cooking, the history of railroads in the US, or hang gliding) without being interrupted by other things someone else wants you to read. And, if you hang out at the library, you know that we like to reward you for reading.
Reading is so delicious!
This is our theme for this year’s game and we want everyone to play, prereaders, kids, teen ,and adults ( yes , even your grandparents!).
Here are the basic rules:
Sign up and get a reading log . Keep track of every thirty minutes you read. For every thirty minutes , you get to spin and move one or two spaces on the board ( everybody gets to spin this year- and the wheels are more fun ) . There are bonus activities you can do to move along the board faster. There is a first prize – which is a book bag. The final prize is a book and … a raffle ticket. This year there is a grand prize drawing for … something I will tell you about later (I can’t tell you everything right now, what would I talk about later?)
So starting June 11th – come on in and sign up. And make mon and dad join you.
