Dearly Departed : Review

I read Dearly Departed By Lia Habel this weekend. Despite the fact that I read this on my kindle, I picked it up because I just love the cover. It is striking. The story: The year is 2195 – humans have survived a world-wide disaster , and have divided themselves into different groups. We are introduced to the New Victorians; Victorian values plus modern technology. Nora Dearly, is going to a proper school, but is more interested in military history than the things that should interest a young lady. As an orphan under the watch of her overbearing, spendthrift aunt’ life it isn’t easy. It is a lot harder, however; when she is captured by an army of the living dead. Highly recommend for those that are interested in : steampunk, zombies, postapocalyptic fiction, or unusual romantic pairings. Note: Each chapter is from a different characters point of view – you have to pay attention to keep things straight.
