It has been a while – so I had to go find something funny about libraries. And these are some of the worst jokes I’ve ever heard. But than again a pun should make you groan.

So on Monday I complained about not reading enough , which encouraged me to finish Inside Out and start Everlasting . And I finished that one on Tuesday night, so I am really glad I picked up the book.
Everlasting by Angie Frazier is a mixture of historical fiction and some magic. Seventeen year old Camille is engaged, but before she gets married, her father is taking her on one last sailing trip. What Camille doesn’t know is that her father has a few secrets , about the journey and her mother. After a mysterious storm and a shipwreck , she decides to follow the secrets and a magical treasure map.
I don’t remember why I picked this book up , but I’m glad I did . It is historical fiction, but it is told like Indiana Jones or The Pirates of the Caribbean. A lot of danger, a little romance, lots of adventure ,and a little magic. A fun book.

“…I’m Trella. I’m a scrub. A nobody. One of thousands who work the lower levels, keeping inside clean for the Uppers. I’ve got one friend, do my job, and try to avoid the Pop Cops. So what if I occasionally use the pipes to sneak around the Upper levels. The only neck at risk is my own…until I accidentally start a rebellion and become the go-to-girl to lead a revolution”–
Why did I pick it up? I love the accidental hero. The story of someone who gets caught up in circumstances that cause them to reach a point of answering a big question – that will always grab me. Why did I keep reading? the pacing. It was frustrating at the beginning - you want to shove people along and get them to hurry, but in real life things take time. But of course things get faster and faster until the end. it has a high level of violence, but no gore for gore’s sake. There is a sequel , but the book is complete without it.

When I first looked at this reading challenge - I saw that it was a little more than 5 hours a week. I was worried I’d finish too fast. Ha. No wonder my reading isn’t what it used to be, I don’t even read everyday! Actually, I do , but more of it is a little here and a little here on the internet; not much sit down and read a good book. Which is a little sad , because it is one of my favorite things to do. So today I am happy for this challenge, because it is reminding me to take the time to do one of thing I like to do – read a good book.

So that is where I was Saturday Morning. Notice that one title is mixed in the middle of the book I’m reading. Yes, sometimes I am reading more than once. And right now I am listening to a book on my iphone as well. One book is not always enough.
