Newark’s TAG gets artistic

Newark library’s Teen Advisory Group is creating a mural for the library’s teen area under the direction and artistic expertise of Brian Edwards, the library’s circulation supervisor.  To get in the swing of things eight of the teen advisors took advantage of Target’s Art & Wonder program in San Francisco.  Sunday the TAG members along with Brian and Kathleen Hannon, library assistant for teen services, took  BART to visit the Museum of Modern Art and the Contemporary Jewish Museum.  On Monday the TAG group put their experience to work by starting the mural, and hope to have the painting completed in time for Newark Days the third week of September.

ECLIPSE

Last week was the much anticipated opening for Twilight fans of  Eclipse, the  3rd film of the Twilight Saga.  Most critics are giving it a thumbs up and like it better than Twilight and New Moon. There’s greater attention  and care to developing tension, plot and secondary characters.
